MEET GARY
Leadership Delivering Results for Our Ward 8 Community
Gary Kaschak was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and has lived in the east end of Windsor for 55 plus years. Gary and his wife Mary currently reside on Clemenceau Blvd. and have for the past 30 years. They are the proud parents of two sons, Ryan and Adam Kaschak, and they now have two granddaughters, Macey and Naomie.
Gary received his primary and secondary school education at Coronation Public School and Herman Secondary School. He then attended both St. Clair College and the University of Windsor. In 1981, Gary embarked on a Civil Service career by accepting full-time employment with the Canada Revenue Agency, where he worked for 18 years. Gary then transferred to the Canada Border Services Agency and worked there for the next 19 years, overseeing the Windsor/St. Clair Border District as a Program Administrator. In addition, Gary was a member of his local union executive, which included serving as President of the Windsor Local for six years.
Gary is a firm believer that when we invest in our children, we invest in our future. As such, he has been active in the community serving as a coach in both minor league baseball and hockey. He worked diligently to instill the qualities of leadership, integrity, morality, camaraderie and fair play in all the youngsters he coached. Re-investing heavily in Ward 8 parks over the past eight years has shown his commitment to our youth and residents of all ages.
Working on a City of Windsor Community Centre for residents of all ages to have programming and activity is Gary’s next goal. Reviving the Supie Program these past two years has always been what Gary wanted to do after experiencing this terrific program as a child at Coronation Park.
